Clarke County Hospital (CCH) received a grant award of $5,000 from Clarke Electric Cooperative (CEC) on Thursday, April 23, 2020.  The funding came from CEC’s Operation Round up, a charitable giving program that receives donations from CEC customers when they approve to have their bill “rounded-up” to the nearest dollar. clarke county hospital receives donation

The funding is dedicated to help pay for the cost of improvements to the pharmacy at the Hospital.  Regulations governing pharmacies in Iowa now require that the hospital add a negative pressure room and related equipment to be able to continue mixing hazardous and sterile drugs that are used in chemotherapy treatments, wound and infection control and other infusions procedures.

Jason Gibbs, Manager of Member Services at CEC presented the donation to Brian Evans, CEO of CCH. The “Cancer Care and Beyond” fundraising campaign has raised just over $72,000 that will go towards the $1 million project cost.

CCH places great importance on the ability to offer patients services and treatments locally and in a familiar environment.  Our goal is to ensure that patients receive quality care without having to travel outside of our community.
