Brad Lampe received a high honor from his peers recently in DesMoines. The Karl King Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to two band directors by the Iowa Bandmasters Association. One award is given to an active band director and one award is given to a retired director for their contribution to instrumental music performance and education throughout the state of Iowa. Each of the six districts throughout the state nominate a representative for the award which is ultimately decided on by a vote of the organization’s approximately 2000 members. The award was presented at the  IBA annual conference on May 13, 2016.
