Thursday the 25th will be a landmark day for Clarke County and the City of Osceola. With great fanfare The Clarke County Fairgrounds will be a-buzz with activities honoring their favorite daughter, Kim Reynolds, celebrating her historic appointment as the first female Governor of the State of Iowa. Originally from St. Charles, Iowa, Lieutenant Governor Reynolds is expected to be sworn in as Governor of Iowa on the heels of Iowa’s current Governor, Terry Branstad’s confirmation as Ambassador to China.

In a Hometown rally-style celebration, community leadership have organized the event, open to all who can attend, to join future-Governor Kim Reynolds and her family to honor her commitment to her Clarke County roots as well as her exciting future as Governor of the State of Iowa.

Reynolds’ esteemed history in politics started in the halls of Osceola, Iowa’s Clarke County courthouse. As county treasurer, she tirelessly worked for the community she loved. Reynolds quickly saw her career bloom from county-level leadership to a valuable Iowa State Senate appointment. In 2011, upon the re-election of Governor Terry Branstad, the Lieutenant Governor’s position was assigned to Kim, laying the foundation of her future leadership of the State of Iowa as the history-making first female Governor of the State of Iowa.
