Summer in Osceola means a lot of things – baseball games, fair time, fishing, camping, and family fun. But to the kids and families of Osceola, Monday nights in the summer offer up a chance to swim and play at one of the area’s finest aquatic centers – at no cost.
Fern Underwood’s Free Swim Night started a few years back when Ms. Underwood, Osceola’s patron saint of family fun, decided to reserve one night of every week of the summer to make it possible for all kids and families to swim at the Osceola Aquatic Center. Fern’s goal was to give the community the gift of fun and fitness, no matter the financial circumstances, for anyone who wanted to swim.
So, Working with Bill Trickey, Executive Director of The Clarke County Development Corporation (CCDC), a grant was provided to allow one night, Mondays, of every week of the summer to be open to all who wanted to participate.
2017’s Free Swim night starts this Monday!
Every Monday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm
DATES: June 5th through August 7th.
Every week, the doors of the Osceola Aquatic Center will be open for Fern Underwood’s Free Swim Nights. Click the PDF image to the right to download the flyer covering the details of Free Swim Night.
