SWCCs Fall 2025 semester is bringing changes to the applied engineering technology program. With the opening of the CCDC ORBIT Center in Osceola, Iowa, the coursework that was once held at the Creston, IA Campus will be moved to the new ORBIT Center.

In partnership with Clarke County Hospital, the team at Southwestern Community College (SWCC) will be offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course beginning Tuesday, August 6. The EMT course provides comprehensive training in emergency medical care. Pre-registration is required prior to July 26 (this coming Friday) at noon.

Regional industry leaders, SWCC, the CCDC, and others have all been waiting patiently to see progress on Osceola’s new ORBIT Center being built on the southwest corner of the city. With recent weather delays, the new building materials have been delivered and the structural development for the technology center is underway.
The latest feature provides some insight to the ORBIT Center’s construction as well as expected curriculum to be starting as early as January!

The SWCC team has announced an updated schedule for their Open House for the Osceola Center. On Wednesday, August 2nd the Osceola Center will hold their 2023 Open House for those interested in learning more about the programs available at the center.

CCDC’s December board meeting produced an impressive tally of grant and donation approvals, bringing the end of the year to a close on a high note. With more than $30K of approved funds distributed to local groups and organizations, December truly proved to be a great month for giving.
