During Wednesday’s Clarke County Development Corporation (CCDC) Board of Directors meeting, board members considered and approved nearly $240,000 in grant funding requests supporting projects across Clarke County. Representing a significant investment in a single meeting cycle, the approved requests ranged from youth organization support and infrastructure improvements to continued housing development and emergency facility assistance.

Organizations serving Osceola and Clarke County continue to look to CCDC for support through a variety of programs and services. From development strategy and workforce training resources to educational opportunities and direct financial assistance for nonprofit and community organizations, CCDC remains focused on delivering knowledge-, resource-, and funding-based solutions that create long-term community impact.

June’s approved funding totaled $238,907.78 and included projects from across the region:

Osceola Cub Scout Pack 101 received a grant in the amount of $2,073.40 to support a recent surge in membership. Over the past year, participation has doubled compared to previous years. Grant funding will help offset uniform and material costs for families who may otherwise face barriers to participation.

KSOI 91.9 FM Community Radio (Grand River Valley Radio), based in Murray, received a grant totaling $71,926.75 to assist with installation of a 52.5kW solar array and storage system at its broadcast tower site. The project will reduce the risk of service interruptions during power outages while lowering annual energy costs by more than 85%.

“We’re very excited for this venture,” said Joe Hynek, KSOI President and Founder. “After more than 14 years of serving Clarke County and the surrounding areas with community news and entertainment, this solar array will help reduce power costs and safeguard our operations, extending our dedication to the community for years to come.”

Continuing the recent momentum in housing and single-family residential development, the Board also approved a $100,000 grant for the City of Osceola to support the O-Hi (Osceola Housing Incentive) Program. Since launching in August of 2025, the program has generated more than a half dozen new single-family housing development applications, with additional activity anticipated throughout the summer construction season.

Finally, through the NEXUS Flashpoint Fund, Full Harvest Senior Housing was awarded $64,907.63 to replace the facility’s air conditioning system. With the majority of project funding support provided through SICOG, Full Harvest utilized CCDC’s Flashpoint Fund as an emergency funding mechanism. The Flashpoint Fund was designed to support organizations facing urgent needs, limited matching resources, and situations requiring an expedited review process.

“This level of investment reflects the strength of our community and the importance of continuing to support the projects that help Clarke County grow and thrive,” said Andrew Clark, Executive Director of Clarke County Development Corporation. “ We’re honored to help provide support across our region. From community organizations to quality-of-life initiatives and continued housing developments, these investments strengthen opportunities for residents today while helping build a stronger future for generations.”
